Returns & Refunds Policy

Battersea Hardware operates strictly in full compliance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (CCR 2013) and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA 2015).

1. Your Right to Cancel & Inspect (CCR 2013)

You have the legal right to cancel your order within our 30-day return window, commencing on the day you receive physical possession of the items.

In accordance with UK distance selling legislation, you are fully entitled to open packaging and inspect the gauge thickness, dimensions, finish, and thread alignment of our hardware just as you would examine items in an ironmonger's shop.

Condition Requirements: To receive a full refund, items must be returned in brand-new, resaleable condition with all supplied fixing screws, washers, and accessories included. In accordance with Regulation 34(9) of CCR 2013, if goods exhibit diminished value resulting from excessive handling beyond reasonable inspection (e.g. brackets screwed into timber, stripped screw heads, hammer marks on ground spurs, or altered items), a proportionate deduction reflecting diminished value will apply.

2. Prepaid Hassle-Free Return Procedure (By Mail)

All returns are handled strictly by mail. To ensure complete simplicity and zero out-of-pocket costs:

1. Repack Securely: Place the unused hardware fittings into their original inner packaging and outer transit box to prevent movement or carton tears during transport. Ensure all screws and drill bits are enclosed.
2. Affix Pre-Printed Return Label: Locate the pre-printed prepaid Royal Mail / Tracked Return Label enclosed inside your original package and stick it over the original dispatch label. (If you have misplaced your pre-printed label, email support@batterseahardware.co.uk and our support desk will issue an electronic replacement PDF label within 24 hours).
3. Drop-Off at Any Post Office / Parcel Point: Hand the parcel in at any local Post Office branch or designated carrier drop-off point. Always request and retain proof of postage.

3. Inspection & 3-Day Total Refund Processing

Once your return parcel arrives at our logistics hub, our technicians verify unit quantities, hardware piece counts, and surface condition.

Refund Speed Commitment: Your complete refund will be processed and issued within 3 business days of return delivery. All refunds are credited exclusively to the original Visa or Mastercard used for the initial purchase. Depending on your card issuing bank, the funds typically appear on your statement within 1 to 3 banking days following dispatch of our refund confirmation email.

4. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods (CRA 2015)

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, all goods supplied must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. In the improbable event that you receive hardware with manufacturing defects (such as stripped thread rolling, weld imperfections, or incorrect dimensions), you are entitled to a full 30-day statutory right to reject for a complete refund or immediate free replacement.
